The Security Service of Ukraine detained the former deputy deputy Nestor Shufrych. He was informed about the suspicion of financing paramilitary formations of the Russian Federation in Crimea.
This was reported by the SSU and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, the suspect, together with the people's deputy and his other representatives, after the occupation of Crimea, ensured the registration of real estate — a house and a plot of land in Semeiza — according to Russian laws. The deputy purchased this property in 2013 through a controlled enterprise and trustees.
«In 2016, for the purpose of protecting property on the temporarily occupied peninsula, the suspect, together with the People's Deputy, organized the conclusion of a protection agreement with the illegal paramilitary formation of the occupying power in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea — «FGUP «Okhrana» of the Russian Guard in the Republic of Crimea.» Subsequently, the suspect, together with the people's deputy, organized the transfer and transfer of more than 648.7 thousand Russian rubles to the Russian Guard, which is participating in the war against Ukraine, for the protection of property,» the prosecutor's office reported.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of financing actions committed with the aim of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of territory or state border of Ukraine.
We will remind, on September 15, the Security Service of Ukraine detained People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych. He is suspected of treason. The People's Deputy is involved in the case of the Russian spy network, created by Volodymyr Sivkovich, an employee of the FSS of the Russian Federation and a former People's Deputy of Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed that people's deputy Nestor Shufrych was charged with treason. They also reported that they were conducting 45 searches at the places of residence of the people's deputy and his close entourage.
Later, at a meeting on September 20, the Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych from the post of chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Speech.
