To protect Kharkiv from Russian shelling, the city needs a state-of-the-art air defense system.

This was stated by Mayor Ihor Terekhov in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, the West's permission to strike on the territory of the Russian Federation made it possible to destroy the S-300/S-400 installations that were shelling Kharkiv.

«After that, of course, shelling of the city decreased a little. But today the Russians are mostly shelling us with FABs and KABs, and something needs to be done about that too. We need the most modern air defense system, because it is impossible to say that one or two Patriots will solve all our problems. A whole system is needed to be built to protect the sky over Kharkiv, it is extremely necessary,» the city's head emphasized.

Earlier, the Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov said that work is currently underway to differentiate air alarms and recognize targets flying to Kharkiv and those flying to the region. This plan can be implemented by mid-autumn of this year.
