Tortures of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kharkiv region: the prosecutor's office started proceedings

Law enforcement officers have started proceedings on the fact of brutal treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kharkiv direction.

This was reported in the Prosecutor General's Office.

It is indicated that during the monitoring of social networks, the prosecutors found a video recording the brutal treatment of Ukrainian military personnel by the occupiers in the Kharkiv direction.

«The video shows Russian soldiers inflicting physical injuries on Ukrainian soldiers, as well as simulating an execution by firing an automatic weapon near the head of one of the prisoners of war,» the message reads.

In addition, in the video, the occupiers use psychological pressure on the Ukrainian defenders, forcing them to sing the anthem of the USSR.

«Such actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions, according to which prisoners of war have the right to humane treatment. Currently, measures aimed at identifying the victims and servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces are being taken,» the Prosecutor General's Office added.

We will remind that a citizen of Ukraine, whose name has not been disclosed, for the first time filed a criminal lawsuit with the Federal Court of Argentina regarding the torture that was applied to him in the territory of Ukraine occupied by Russia.
