The study showed divided opinions of Ukrainians about evading military service. Young people are less ashamed of it than older people.
Almost half of the surveyed Ukrainians (46%) believe that there is no shame in evading military service, 29% hold the opposite opinion. This is evidenced by the survey of the Razumkov Center, conducted from June 20 to 28, 2024, commissioned by ZN.UA.
«Do you know who condemns dodgers the most? 37% of the elderly (60+) believe that it is shameful to be a dodger during a war. But 50% of the youngest respondents (18–29 years old) are not ashamed. Like, presumably, their parents (50-59 years old) — 52% of people of this age can understand dodgers,» the report says.
During the study, 2,027 respondents aged 18 and over were polled and the theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
The publication also noted that they interviewed people who represent the rear part of Ukraine.
«It is currently impossible to study the opinion of the army, which bears the entire burden of the war and has the right, if not the decisive, then the most significant voice in the negotiations with Russia,» the message said.
Earlier, a poll by the Razumkov Center showed that Ukrainians are divided in their views on negotiations with Russia. Most do not agree with Putin's terms.
