Ukraine reached the final of the 2024 Olympics in saber fencing in the women's team.

The opponents of the Ukrainian saber players became the representatives of Japan. In their quarter-final, the Japanese beat the second-seeded Hungarians.
Ukraine finished the first period with a four-point lead. It was possible thanks to Alina Komaschuk and Olha Kharlan, who twice ended their fights with a difference of two strokes. On the other hand, at the start of the second third of the fights, Ukraine lost its advantage: Olena Kravatska finished her fight against the Japanese Risa Takashima with a score of 2:9, due to which the total result became 17:20. However, in the very next fight, Harlan returned the difference of three strokes to Ukraine. Ukraine finished the second third of the match with a difference of +5 — Alina Komaschuk increased the advantage of the team by two more shots. Before Olga Harlan's last fight, Ukraine already had a nine-shot lead. Ukrainian athletes won with a score of 45:32.
Victory in the match against Japan guaranteed Ukraine a place in the finals and at least a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics. In case of defeat, the Ukrainian women had to win the bronze match. The final will be held on August 3 at 21:00 Kyiv time.
