The team of Ukrainian female fencers defeated the Italian team in the 1/4 finals of the team tournament of the Olympic Games.

This is stated in the results of the match.

The Ukrainian team performed in the following composition: Olha Kharlan, Alina Komaschuk, Olena Kravatska and Yuliia Bakastova. The meeting consisted of nine duels.

After the first two duels, the Ukrainian women won minimally. Already in the third duel, Alina Komaschuk increased the advantage to +4. After the performance of Olha Harlan, an athlete from Mykolaiv, the score was 25:19.

After the seventh duel, thanks to the reserve from the Italian team, Irene Vecchi, they took the lead (35:34), but already during the meeting with Alina Komaschuk and Olga Harlan, the Italians could score only two points. The total score of the meeting is 45:3 in favor of Ukraine.

In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian team will play against the winner of the match between Hungary and Japan. The semi-final match is scheduled to start at 16:20 Kyiv time.
