«Mykolaivoblteploenergo» spent more than ₴22 million on drinking water for citizens this year

The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivoblteploenergo» has not yet received compensation from the city budget for the maintenance of water supply points.

Since the beginning of 2022, the KP has spent more than 22 million hryvnias on the maintenance and service of such points, its director Mykola Logvinov said in an interview with the «MART» TRC, «NikVesti» reports.

In total, the company currently has 79 points on its balance sheet, 75 of which provide water to the townspeople. As of the beginning of October, 76 million liters of water were issued to Mykolaiv residents.

— From January 1 to September 1, according to accounting, 22 million was spent on providing such a service, — he said.

The utility company has not yet received compensation under the «Available Water» program, Mykola Lohvinov said. In part, the city provides direct costs, for example, the purchase of chemicals, certain equipment or membranes.

— We do not receive global compensation for drinking water. We are not compensated for electricity, wages of employees, tests, taxes. There is no such thing. That is, the «Available Water» program is not working yet, — Mykola Lohvinov said.

He added that the question why the program has not worked so far should be asked of its developers.

We will remind that in the summer the deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council adopted the «Available Water» program on the second attempt, for which they plan to allocate 37.6 million hryvnias from the budget in 2023. These funds will be used to maintain reverse osmosis stations, of which there are 145 in Mykolaiv today.

Recently, the Mykolaiv Zoo was added to the «Available Water» program. It will receive funds from the city budget for maintenance, maintenance and repairs of water treatment systems.

It was previously reported that the water under the «Available Water» program, for the maintenance of which 37 million hryvnias are planned to be spent from the budget of Mykolaiv this year, is not potable.

Secretary of Mykolaiv city council Dmytro Falko said that in Mykolaiv after the war, the city council plans to create a utility company that will take care of the purified water points, service them and sell water to the population. At the same time, the cost of a liter of water, according to preliminary calculations, can be 20 kopecks.
