Bashtanka cheese factory plans to restore part of its production facilities in the Mykolaiv region after relocation. However, one of the problems remains the lack of raw materials.

Vladyslav Dmytriv, the head of the Bashtanka RDA, reported this, writes Ukrinform.

«I spoke with the management of the «Milk Alliance» group of companies, which includes the Bashtanka cheese factory, as well as with its direct director. They said that today the possibility of returning the enterprise to the Mykolaiv region and resuming at least part of the production here in our country is being considered. Now, as is known, he has been relocated,» Dmytriv said.

He said that for the stable operation of the plant, 100 tons of milk per day is needed. But due to hostilities in the Bashtanka district, the livestock population decreased by 60-70%. He is convinced that a number of issues need to be resolved for the development of dairy farming: to provide a fodder base, demining areas for livestock grazing, to change the price policy for purchasing milk.

According to him, life is gradually being restored in the district: people are returning, and private milk receivers are delivering raw materials to Kryvyi Rih and Voznesensk. However, in contrast to pre-war times, the number of milk trucks has significantly decreased.

«There is another point - the majority of people of retirement age remain in the villages. It is already difficult for them to keep livestock, so we are waiting for our Victory and the return home of our defenders,» he added.

It is noted that 207 industrial enterprises were destroyed in the Mykolayiv region since the beginning of the full-scale war. The Bashtanka cheese factory, which was also damaged, was relocated to another region.

As reported, 282 enterprises that were relocated from combat zones and frontline regions operate in Transcarpathia. Currently, the region has received 40% of all relocated businesses of Ukraine.
