Mykolaiv region is among the leading regions where IDPs most often buy housing under the compensation programme

Mykolaiv region is one of the regions where IDPs are most active in purchasing housing under the state compensation programme. Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions have also purchased the most apartments and houses.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba, over 700 families have become owners of new homes across Ukraine in the first month. The total amount of payments exceeded one billion hryvnias. Another 2,500 families have received approval for payments under the certificates and are in the process of choosing housing.

«The programme is only gaining momentum, so we expect even greater results and indicators», he stressed.

It is noted that the Government has allocated 15 billion hryvnias for compensation for destroyed housing, and 10,000 families are expected to receive assistance.

Earlier it was reported that the World Bank, the European Commission and the United Nations had updated the estimate of the cost of reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine, raising it to $524 billion over the next decade. In particular, 13% of the country's housing stock has been destroyed or damaged.

As a reminder, the Domanivka community will have social housing. Two houses are already ready, and six more are in the process. The project is being implemented with the support of Danish partners and provides for 25 such homes across the region.
