Danish investors will build up to 10,000 apartments in Mykolaiv. The city will receive some of the apartments as social housing, while the investor will use the rest at its own discretion.

This was announced by the Mykolaiv City Council.

«The relevant memorandum was signed today, 7 January, by Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych and VK Investments Ukraine LLC», which represents the Danish group of companies Vaekstkapital Group», according to the press service.

The city council added that the first 200 apartments will be built as part of a pilot project to test how the cooperation between the city and the investor will work.

We would like to remind you that in November 2024, work began in Mykolaiv on the creation of a municipal housing fund and a utility company to manage it.

According to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, this will help provide housing for displaced persons and other socially vulnerable groups. At that time, he said that the city plans to build municipal housing, and the newly created utility company will manage it. Some of the flats will be rented at market prices, and some at preferential rates.

On 13 October 2025, a cooperation agreement was signed in Hanover between the German company hanova and the Mykolaiv-based enterprise «Svii Dim». It will be responsible for managing and renting municipal housing. This agreement consolidates the partnership and confirms further support for Mykolaiv during the reconstruction of the city.
