The regional development agency of the Mykolaiv region has identified priority areas of work, including providing the region and the city of Mykolaiv with drinking water.

This became known during a press briefing on February 21, NikVesti reports.

Yevhen Babkov, acting director of the Regional Development Agency of the Mykolaiv region, said that the agency is currently cooperating with donors to install water treatment facilities on the territory of schools and lyceums in the Mykolaiv region and the city of Mykolaiv so that local residents can receive drinking water.

«We want our communities to be able to write grant applications and receive international funds. That is, these are non-budgetary funds, but there are also budget grant programs,» said Yevhen Babkov.

According to him, the agency has identified priority areas for itself, including water supply.

«There are many projects with which the agency works, including the economy, reconstruction, restoration, and water supply. There are indeed priorities today, among which, for example, water supply. Currently, there is a very big problem with this in the region and in Mykolaiv.»

Babkov also added that the Pervomaisk community sent an application to a potential donor for the restoration of the Rozhnovskyi Tower, which was destroyed.

«The Pervomaisk community suffered a lot in general. If we find a grant, and they are constantly updated, we immediately direct and communicate. Of course, we cannot know the needs of all 52 communities, that is why we created this network of people on the ground who know specific problems and needs,» he said.

Yevhen Babkov's deputy added that he cannot publish the entire work plan for 2024 because the Regional Development Agency does not have budget funds.

«We must look for grants ourselves and work on what projects we need now. We allocated water,» said Serhii Pavlyshko.

We will remind you how Sienkevych went to Berlin for a conference on the restoration of water supply in Mykolaiv.
