US President Joe Biden has announced another $2.5 billion aid package for Ukraine.
According to the official White House website, this decision is aimed at supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
«I have instructed my administration to continue to provide Ukraine with as much assistance as possible as quickly as possible, including writing off old US equipment for Ukraine, getting it to the battlefield as quickly as possible, and then reviving the US defence industrial base to modernise and replenish our stockpile of new weapons», the US president said.
The package includes $1.25 billion in additional military assistance and $1.22 billion in the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
According to the US Department of Defence, hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles and hundreds of armoured vehicles are in the process of being delivered to strengthen Ukraine's combat capabilities.
Earlier it was reported that the Netherlands plans to provide Ukraine with another €6 billion in military aid.
