He wrote about this in his column «Ukraine is not an expense. It is an opportunity» for The Daily Signal, NikVesti reports.
In the column, Vitalii Kim emphasised that American investment in Ukraine has already strengthened the US defence industry, created jobs and helped modernise military technology. According to him, once the war ends, Ukraine will become one of the largest reconstruction markets in Europe.
«Ukraine has become the world’s most active real-time laboratory for modern warfare. Ukrainian engineers, military personnel and private developers are rapidly advancing technologies in drones, electronic warfare, cyber defence and combat data integration — at a pace rarely seen outside the conditions of war. Ukraine is not merely using Western systems — it is rapidly adapting and refining them in combat conditions. For the US, this creates a clear military-technological advantage: the opportunity to accelerate innovation, refine new capabilities and strengthen the defence industry at a lower cost. Joint development and cooperation with Ukrainian partners can yield faster results and help America stay ahead in the face of new threats. In a competitive environment where speed and adaptability are everything, Ukraine gives the US a real strategic advantage,» writes Vitalii Kim.
He noted that American companies could gain significant opportunities in the fields of infrastructure, energy, logistics, the agricultural sector, cybersecurity and high-tech manufacturing.
According to Kim, the involvement of American business in Ukraine’s reconstruction will not only yield economic benefits but also help avert large-scale global crises in the future.
«Preventing new upheavals is wiser and cheaper than paying for crises that could have been avoided. What we are asking of American entrepreneurs is a partnership based on shared interests and shared prosperity. Peace and security in Ukraine today mean reliable security for Europe tomorrow. It means stable trade and logistics routes for Europe and the world. It means opportunities for American business,» he believes.
It should be noted that The Daily Signal is an American conservative online media outlet founded by The Heritage Foundation, a think tank considered one of the most influential right-wing conservative think tanks in the US. The publication specialises in politics, economics, international relations and security issues, and is aimed primarily at a Republican and conservative audience.
Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, has published a column for the American online media outlet The Daily Signal, in which he described the potential of the Mykolaiv region following the end of the full-scale war. In the article, he highlighted the economic and strategic opportunities for the US arising from supporting Ukraine and participating in post-war reconstruction.
In addition, he called on American businesses to invest in the ports and logistics of the Mykolaiv region.
