It is noted that the vehicles were purchased by the federal company GIZ Ukraine within the framework of the «Special Support Program for Ukraine/EU4ResilientRegions» program, which is co-financed by the European Union and the German government.

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council Anton Tabunshchyk, GIZ project adviser Tetiana Hvozd, as well as community representatives took part in the handover.

GIZ project advisor Tetyana Hvozd emphasized that the new «Social taxi» service will help overcome barriers and create an inclusive environment for all community residents. In particular, thanks to these cars, elderly people and residents of settlements who cannot use public transport due to their health will be able to get to state specialized institutions, communal and medical institutions, etc. to receive the necessary help and services.

She also informed that the support consists not only in the transfer of specially equipped cars, but also in helping to create the «Social Taxi» service in communities to provide services on a permanent basis.

Within the framework of the program, 31 specialized vehicles were purchased for communities in 9 regions of Ukraine, including Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv. Of these, 29 cars were financed by the German government, the rest — with funds from the European Union.

We will remind that communities of Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions received 16 «social taxi» cars.
