At night during the New Year holidays in Snihurivka, a local set off fireworks — the police detained a man

On New Year's Eve, a local resident set off fireworks in Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region.

This was reported by the local publication SNIH.

«Regarding today's night fireworks in the city of Snihurivka: police officers promptly identified and detained the persons involved in launching the fireworks, the culprits will be punished,» the mass media reported.

In a comment to NikVesti, the press service of the Mykolaiv Oblast police confirmed this fact.

According to law enforcement officials, a local resident launched the fireworks at around 3:20 a.m.

The perpetrator who committed hooligan acts was a 36-year-old local resident. The man was intoxicated. He explained his actions as a desire to have fun.

Law enforcement officers found a used firework box near the offender's house.

Now, under the procedural guidance of the Snihurivka Department of the Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office, the police investigators informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for restriction of freedom for a period of up to five years.

According to Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine, violation of the requirements of legal acts on the protection of the population from the harmful effects of noise or the rules for observing silence in populated areas and public places entails a fine from 85 to 225 hryvnias, and for subjects of economic activity from 225 to 510 hryvnias.
