More than 430,000 consumers in Odesa region remain without electricity after Russian shelling

Photo: Suspilne Odesa/Borys BukhmanAs a result of one of the most massive Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of Odesa region on the night of 13 December, power engineers managed to restore electricity supply to more than 184,000 consumers and critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa and the region.
This was reported by the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
At the same time, according to Deputy Energy Minister Olha Yukhymchuk, more than 430,000 customers in the region are still without electricity. Emergency repair crews are working around the clock, but due to significant damage to some power facilities, restoration of power supply in some areas will take additional time.
During the attacks, Russian troops targeted electricity transmission and distribution facilities, including substations of NPC «Ukrenergo». Temporary power outages were recorded not only in Odesa region, but also in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration , said that as of the morning, power supply had been restored to more than 184,500 customers. Almost 85,000 households have had their electricity restored over the past 24 hours alone. Almost all critical infrastructure facilities are now powered.
The regional military administration also urged residents of the region to switch on electrical appliances gradually after the power supply is restored to avoid overloading the networks.
As a reminder, on the night of 13 December, Odesa region came under one of the most massive air attacks. Russian troops struck at energy and industrial infrastructure.
