Due to a massive attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, nuclear power plants have reduced their generation capacity.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

«The enemy struck substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead lines. As a result, nuclear power plants were forced to reduce generation,» the statement said.

To balance the power system, electricity imports are being used and measures to limit consumption are being implemented. NEC Ukrenergo has increased the number of power cuts, and emergency schedules have been introduced in most regions of Ukraine.

It is noted that due to constant shelling by the Russian Federation, a state of emergency continues to operate in Ukraine's energy sector, ensuring maximum coordination of actions by all services at the state and regional levels.

Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Russia also attacked the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants.

«The enemy also struck the power generation facilities: the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants. The nuclear power plant units were unloaded by personnel,» the statement said.

Across Ukraine, 4.5–5 stages of emergency power cuts have been implemented, with special emergency power cut schedules in the eastern and northern regions.

Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv, during power outages, heating problems were recorded in about 25 of the 1,324 buildings on the balance sheet of the regional heating company.
