Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy

The Ministry of Energy is the central executive body of Ukraine that shapes and carries out state energy policy. During the war it tracks the damage from Russian strikes: in November 2025 it reported that all large thermal and hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine had been damaged, and over one week from 29 December to 4 January it recorded more than 100 damaged energy facilities. In July 2026 the ministry handed the Mykolaiv Oblast a 1 MW energy storage system for critical infrastructure. In August 2024 Deputy Energy Minister Oleksandr Kheilo was detained on suspicion of bribery together with the head of an energy company from the Mykolaiv region, and the Cabinet dismissed him.

MykVisti covers the ministry’s statements on power outages, damage to the energy system, the heating season and equipment that reaches the regions.
