Mykolaiv's chief architect, Yevhen Poliakov, reacted to the installation of the new kiosk on Soborna Street, calling its owners «utterly inadequate».

As is known, the new «booth» was installed at the corner of Soborna and Pavla Skoropadskoho Streets (formerly Admiral Makarov Street).

He noted that the kiosk will be dismantled, and the paperwork is currently being processed.

«Some incredibly inadequate people in our city decided to put a kiosk on the pavement in the city centre. We are currently documenting the dismantling. Don't do this,» Yevhen Poliakov wrote in his Facebook story.

Meanwhile, city residents are complaining about the installation of a new kiosk.

«How many of these booths can you put up? Soborna is turning into a central market,» one resident reacted.

«Booth builder, Mykolaiv. Who gives permission for this?» asked another city resident.

We remind you that at the intersection near the «Khvylynka» bus stop in Mykolaiv, which was cleared of unauthorised kiosks six years ago, a new kiosk has been installed, which the city council has agreed to lease to an entrepreneur for 10 years.

The Department of Internal Financial Control, Supervision and Anti-Corruption of the Mykolaiv City Council recalled that in 2019, this area was completely cleared of the market, which for decades had spoiled the appearance of the intersection on Vadym Blahovisnyi Street (formerly Nikolska Street).

The Mykolaiv City Council website reported at the time that the «legacy of the 90s» had been successfully dismantled. However, with the approval of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, as the department added, a new kiosk appeared on the territory.
