Kim warns of additional risk due to more frequent drone attacks during the day: «Debris may fall on the city, go to shelters»

Russian troops have changed their tactics of attacking the Mykolaiv region and have begun to use strike drones more frequently during the day. Residents are asked to stay in safe places and use shelters during alerts.

This was stated by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim.

According to him, the enemy is beginning to attack not only critical infrastructure, but also other targets, which poses an additional threat to the population.

«You may have noticed that the Shahed drones in the Mykolaiv region have started flying during the day; the enemy is changing its tactics. Thank God, we still have the means to shoot them down, even in foggy conditions. But I wanted to warn you that despite the change in tactics, they are starting to terrorise us by targeting various objects, not just critical infrastructure. This increases the risk. The fact that they are being shot down during the day means that debris is falling on the city or its outskirts,» said Vitalii Kim.

He also urged residents of the region not to film drones flying or being shot down.

«When you hear the sound of Shahed or the work of the guys, don't film it. We don't need these videos. Move to safe places, preferably shelters,» emphasised the head of the region.

We will remind you that on the night and early morning of 25 February, critical and transport infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv and the Voznesensk district were hit. According to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the day before, troops twice attacked the Ochakiv community in the Mykolaiv district with FPV drones. There were no casualties.

Air defence forces destroyed and suppressed 11 Shahed 131/136 strike drones and drone simulators over the Mykolaiv region.
