In February, almost three times more people died in Mykolaiv than were born

In February, 138 babies were born in Mykolaiv, while 395 residents died.

This was reported during an open staff meeting on Monday, 2 March, by the head of the Mykolaiv Health Department, Iryna Shamrai, and the director of the municipal institution «Mykolaiv Funeral Service», Serhii Vaseleha, according to NikVesti.

According to Iryna Shamrai, a total of 309 children have been born in Mykolaiv since the beginning of the year.

«Over the past month, 138 babies were born: 70 boys and 68 girls. Since the beginning of the year, 309 children have been born: 153 boys and 156 girls, including four sets of twins,» said Iryna Shamrai.

Serhii Vaseleha reported that 395 people died during the month.
