50 corruption cases and 12 cases of evading conscription were referred to court over the past six months in the Mykolaiv region

During the first half of 2026, prosecutors in the Mykolaiv region referred 922 indictments to the courts. These included dozens of cases involving corruption, offences relating to public finances, drug trafficking, as well as evasion of military conscription and the illegal smuggling of men across the state border.
This is according to a report on the performance of prosecutors in the Mykolaiv region, as reported by NikVesti.
The majority of the cases referred to court concerned corruption offences — 50 in total — whilst a further 39 cases were referred to court relating to the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors.
In addition, prosecutors filed 36 indictments for offences in the budgetary sphere and 24 relating to land law.
The report also notes that 12 indictments were referred to court concerning evasion of conscription during mobilisation. A further three cases relate to the illegal smuggling of persons of conscription age across Ukraine’s state border.

Screenshot from the prosecutor’s officeThe prosecutor’s office also reported that offences against property remain among the most common categories of criminal offences recorded in the Mykolaiv region in the first half of 2026, totalling 1,086. This category includes, in particular, theft, robbery, mugging, fraud and misappropriation of property.
The second most common category was offences against life and health — 701 such cases were recorded. A further 376 criminal offences related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs.
In addition, over the course of the first half of the year, the prosecutor’s office recorded 116 offences against the environment and 76 criminal offences against the foundations of national security.

Among the region’s districts, the highest number was recorded in Mykolaiv District (excluding the regional centre) — 2,372. In the Voznesensk district, 1,246 offences were recorded; in the Pervomaisk district, 1,160; and in the Bashtanka district, 922.

Screenshot from the prosecutor’s officeIt should be noted that during the first six months of 2026, a fall in crime rates of almost 15 per cent was recorded in Mykolaiv. There was a reduction in the number of serious crimes, intentional homicides and criminal offences against property.
