Trump sends Treasury Secretary to Ukraine to meet with Zelenskyy

US President Donald Trump has announced that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will arrive in Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The US President wrote about this on his official social media page.

He stressed the need to end the war as soon as possible, focusing on its consequences.

«I am sending Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Ukraine to meet with President Zelensky. This war must and will end soon — there has been too much death and destruction. The United States has spent billions of dollars around the world, with little result. When America is strong, the world is at peace», he wrote.

Donald Trump did not specify when Scott Bessent would arrive and what exactly would be discussed with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that representatives of US President Donald Trump' s team would arrive in Ukraine this week.
