Allies may send 10,000 peacekeepers to Ukraine — Times

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping force of more than 10,000 troops to Ukraine during an online meeting of the «coalition of the willing».

According to the Times, citing its own sources, Starmer's initiative has received wider support than expected, and more countries are ready to join than the three states that initially offered to send their military.

According to preliminary data, the bulk of the peacekeeping contingent may be formed by the military from the UK and France. However, specific information on the countries' participation has not yet been disclosed for security reasons.

Also, about 35 countries have agreed to provide weapons, logistical and intelligence support for the mission in Ukraine. This should be a deterrent to Vladimir Putin in the event of a ceasefire and prevent a new invasion.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that his special envoy Steve Witkoff did not wait for hours to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow. He called the reports about this «fake news».
