MP Kostenko called for increased mobilisation and explained why monuments to Zelensky will be erected. Photo: Roman Kostenko / FacebookIf Ukraine wins the war, monuments to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be erected in cities, but unpopular decisions must be made.
This was stated by Roman Kostenko, MP, Secretary of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine, on the air of Novosti.LIVE, told NikVesti.
He is convinced that the president should address the public and openly declare the need to strengthen mobilisation.
«The president needs to come out and say: «People, we either mobilise or we will lose this war». And this is a fact, a reality that we have to realise,» says Kostenko .
According to him, victory in this war will be crucial for Ukraine's independence, and political scandals will fade into the background.
«If we win this war, monuments to the president will be in the main squares of our cities. This is Ukraine's biggest war in the struggle for independence. If we win it, there will be no further questions about our sovereignty. I think then some scandals will be forgotten. There will be a winner, just like Churchill once did, and there will be people who stand by him,» the MP is convinced.
At the same time, Kostenko is confident that in order to achieve victory, the president must make unpopular decisions and work with everyone who can strengthen the country's defence capabilities.
«To do this, you have to make unpopular decisions, work for concrete solutions and accept the realities. And you have to work with all the people who can bring something to the table, not just 5-6 managers,» he said.
Earlier, MP Roman Kostenko said that the current moment is «the worst for the entire war» for negotiations.
