At least 2 million 150 thousand hryvnias are needed for the implementation of the project on the construction of a modular town for internally displaced people in Pivdennoukrainsk.

Oleksandr Myronyuk, director of KP ZEO, to whose balance the objects were transferred, reported this in a comment to the local publication YuzhkaNews.Sity.

In addition to the arrangement, the utility company will also prepare and beautify the area on Kvitkovyi Boulevard.

So far, the city has allocated only 150,000 hryvnias from the local budget so that utilities could start preparatory work. The decision on additional funding will be considered at the next session of the City Council.

According to the project, the community receives 10 modular houses free of charge from the Swiss Association «Help to Ukraine». However, local bodies are responsible for preparing the territory, installing lighting, video surveillance, conducting communications, and arranging amenities for living.

Today, utility workers are already working on improvements: they are clearing the territory, removing the remains of old buildings and preparing the foundation for the modules. It is also planned to install fences, benches, shelters above the entrances, and the houses themselves will be finished with a moisture-resistant coating.

In a conversation with journalists, Deputy Mayor Mariia Drozdova noted that the first residents will be pensioners from Popasna, who lost their homes due to the war.

In general, priority in the distribution of housing will be given to internally displaced persons from vulnerable categories: pensioners, single mothers with children, people with disabilities.

We will remind you that the construction of modular houses for IDPs in Pivdennoukrainsk began at the end of October.
