The executive committee of the South Ukrainian City Council agreed to increase the cost of heating in the city. The new tariff will be effective from October 1 of this year.

The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee.

We are talking about setting the tariff for the supply of thermal energy, which is provided by the branch «Separate division «South Ukraine NPP» of the joint-stock company «National Atomic Energy Generating Company «Energoatom» on the territory of the South Ukrainian urban community.

Currently, the city has a tariff of 137.48 hryvnias. According to the decision of the executive committee, the new tariff will be 148.16 hryvnias, i.e. 10.68 hryvnias more expensive.

We would like to remind you that there is a moratorium on increasing tariffs for gas, hot water and heating in Ukraine, but it does not apply to electricity and cold water. The Cabinet of Ministers increased the electricity tariff for the population from June 1 from ₴1.68/kWh to ₴2.64/kWh.

Instead, the parliament partially reviewed the moratorium on tariff increases introduced in 2022 and canceled its effect for non-household consumers (enterprises, budget institutions, heat supply organizations, communal and household facilities). Thus, after the adoption of the law on June 4, the moratorium remained only for household consumers.

We will remind you that the National Bank of Ukraine predicts that during 2024 tariffs for housing and communal services, in particular for gas, heating and hot water, will remain unchanged. However, due to the difficult situation in the energy sector and the state budget, it is expected that tariffs will be gradually adjusted in the coming years.

It was also reported that the National Energy Regulatory Commission (NERCP) plans to change the approach to the formation of tariffs for electricity distribution starting from 2026. Instead of the current two voltage classes, three will be introduced.

It should be noted that after the end of the war, a gradual increase in tariffs for gas and electricity will begin with the aim of reimbursing costs.

Recently, the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, denied the information spread on the network about the alleged future increase in electricity prices to 8 hryvnias per kW.
