The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has created a new system of intellectual property protection and patenting of military technologies.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umierov.
He noted that thanks to the new system, clear rules of cooperation with Ukrainian and international partners have been introduced, and innovations are now properly protected.
«The future of war and defense is not only the power of weapons, but also the power of innovation. It is important not only to create new technologies, but also to form a sustainable system that protects and supports their development,» said the minister.
The new system is a signal to partners about Ukraine's readiness for responsible cooperation, where their technologies will be protected, and support to the defense sector will receive guarantees of development and security. An example is the patent for the FPV drone detector «Vitriak-M», developed by the Technology Scaling Center, which helps the Armed Forces detect enemy drones and warn of their approach.
«Patenting is the protection of our inventors' developments, the confidence of our partners and the foundation of a new defense culture, where every discovery becomes a step towards victory,» he added.
It was previously reported that more than 55 billion hryvnias are planned to be allocated for the production of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine in 2025, which is 3 billion hryvnias more than what was allocated for 2024.
