200 Ukrainian pilots have undergone basic training in the UK before training on F-16 fighter jets.
This was reported by the British Embassy in Ukraine.
«200 Ukrainian aviators have undergone basic flight, ground and language training in the UK before training on F-16s. Royal Air Force instructors taught pilots general aircraft control, instrument flight, low-altitude navigation and flight in complex formations,» the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would receive six F-16 fighters from Norway by the end of the year.
The Netherlands is also allocating another €300 million for the purchase of ammunition for F-16 fighters, which the country will soon hand over to Ukraine.
Denmark has already undertaken to train up to a hundred Ukrainian specialists to maintain the F-16s, and half of them have already been trained and are participating in the preparation of the first aircraft in Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the NATO-Ukraine Council with a call to expand training for Ukrainian pilots on F-16s to strengthen the country's defence capabilities. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the right number of aircraft to counter Russia.
