The first stage of the dismantling work took longer than planned due to the significant damage to the building. However, when the contractor started the restoration, additional work appeared that the housing office did not take into account when concluding the contract, which led to the project being suspended for adjustment.

Currently, the work on the building is 40% complete, as Artem Sapozhnyk, Deputy Director of the State Housing Committee, said in a commentary to NikVesti in April 2024. Out of the planned 9.2 million, 1 million 788 thousand 435 hryvnias was spent on these works.

According to the tender, published on 5 May, the restoration work should be completed by 30 September this year. The contractor is obliged to dismantle the building, install new doors and windows, and lay floors, walls, and ceilings. The contractor will also carry out electrical and plumbing work; install heating, ventilation, air conditioning and security systems, etc.

As a reminder, a Russian missile hit the building on the night of 1 October 2022. It destroyed parts of the fourth and fifth floors of the five-storey building. A young girl was killed and five other people were injured in the attack.
