Three underground hospitals set up in Kherson region

Three hospitals in the Kherson region have been equipped with shelters for the safety of patients and staff during shelling.

This was announced by Health Minister Viktor Liashko.

According to him, the shelters were set up in:

• Kherson Regional Clinical Hospital;
• Kherson City Hospital named after O. S. Luchanskyi;
• Kherson Perinatal Centre named after Z. S. Klymenko.

Last year, the government allocated 160 million hryvnias to create safe conditions in the region's hospitals. In addition, medical facilities received modern equipment: mammography machines, ventilators, oxygen stations, ambulances, etc.

It should be noted that medical facilities in the Kherson region have been repeatedly targeted by Russian troops.

In January 2024, Russians shelled a hospital in Kherson. Three medical workers and one other person were injured in the attack. One of the medical facilities was also damaged in February last year.
