Pervomaisk reconstructs water supply system for «bonus» €3.8 million

Reconstruction of the water supply system. Photo: Pervomaisk City CouncilThe Pervomaisk City Council has decided to attract a grant from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) to implement the project «Reconstruction of the Pervomaisk Main Water Supply System».
The relevant draft decision was approved at a meeting of the Pervomaisk City Council.
According to the document, the grant amount will be up to 3 million 485 thousand euros. The funds will be allocated directly to the contractors who will carry out the work.
It is noted that the purpose of the grant is to modernise 10 kilometres of the city's water supply system, which will improve the quality of services and reduce water losses.
Pervomaisk Mayor Oleh Demchenko said that the funds are «bonus» financing from NEFCO.
«Due to the fact that we work very well with the international organisation NEFCO, we were additionally given a bonus for the 10-kilometre water supply main from the WTP-1 to Kyivska Street», commented Oleh Demchenko.
The project will be overseen by the City Council's Standing Committee on Housing, Transport, Environment and Amenities.
It should be noted that the construction of a new water treatment plant OSV-1 is currently underway in Pervomaisk. The construction is being carried out in partnership with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).
The metal structures of the future building have already been erected, part of the foundations and tanks have been installed, and concrete and earthworks are underway. Specialised machinery is working at the site, and contractors are preparing the area for equipment installation.
