As a result of the Russian attack on the night of 20 January, 5,635 multi-storey residential buildings in Kyiv were left without heat. The left bank of the city is also currently without water supply.

This was reported by the mayor of the capital, Vitalii Klychko.

According to him, almost 80% of the buildings left without heat after this attack are residences where heat supply was restored after damage on 9 January.

Vitali Klitschko also recalled that as of the evening of 19 January, only 16 of nearly 6,000 buildings remained without heat due to previous strikes on critical infrastructure.

According to him, utility services and energy companies are already working to restore heat, water and electricity to Kyiv residents' homes.

We will remind you that recently, the director of energy programmes at the Razumkov Centre, Volodymyr Omelchenko, noted that the situation with heat supply in Ukraine may begin to gradually improve in the spring, but until then, the energy system will continue to be under pressure due to Russian shelling, cold weather and limited air defence capabilities.
