After the frosts, the ground subsided in the Heart of the City square in Mykolaiv, and in some places the paving slabs were damaged. The Housing and Communal Services Department suggests that this may be due to a leak in the underground water pipe.

Ihor Nabatov, deputy director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Utilities Department, told NikVesti that this section is located above a water pipeline. The facility was built on behalf of the RMA Architecture Department. Earlier, the city council transferred the functions of the customer for a number of water pipes, including this one, to the regional department.

«Yesterday, a corresponding appeal was sent by the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks to the Architecture Department of the Regional State Administration and the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal. In turn, according to information from the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal, the RMA Architecture Department has not yet commissioned this facility and therefore has not transferred it to the balance sheet of the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal,» said Ihor Nabatov.

He added that they are currently awaiting a response from the RMA Architecture Department, as the situation is likely related to warranty obligations. Preliminary, this may be the result of a leak in the underground water pipeline.

«As for the impact on residents of the area, given that the water pipe has not been put into operation, it is not used to supply water to consumers of the Mykolaivvodokanal municipal utility company,» said Ihor Nabatov.
