The surgical ward at the Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital will be temporarily closed. Renovation work will be carried out there.
The information about the renovation was confirmed to NikVesti by the mayor of Voznesensk, Yevhen Velychko.
The surgical department will be closed for approximately 2–3 weeks. Work will involve modernising the ventilation system and upgrading the water supply and drainage systems.
Voznesensk Mayor Yevhen Velychko also stated that the renovation of the department will be co-funded from various sources. Funds are planned to be allocated from the city budget, and co-funding from local communities is also expected, as the hospital serves as a regional hub and is used by residents of other communities as well.
«There will be an extraordinary session to extend the funding. We cannot raise such a large sum on our own. Our partners are also helping. We will be forced to approach local communities for additional funding, as we are a cluster hospital,» explained Velychko.
During the renovation, patients from the surgical ward of the Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital will be redirected to medical facilities in Southern Ukraine.
In addition, Yurii Hranaturov, deputy head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, told NikVesti that routine sanitisation of the surgical ward is currently underway to prevent nosocomial infections.
