Residents of Mykolaiv are complaining about dangerous equipment on children’s playgrounds and sports facilities in courtyards. The damaged equipment poses a risk to children.

Several residents have written about this situation in various neighbourhoods of the city in the Contact Centre group at Mykolaiv City Council.

Yuliia Pozdniakova has asked for the children’s playground and football pitch in the courtyard on Lazurna Street, near buildings 10-A and 6-B, to be repaired. The Mykolaiv resident describes their condition as dangerous.

«Currently, most of the playground and football pitch equipment is damaged. The existing defects pose a real threat to the lives and health of children, which is unacceptable,» wrote Yuliia Pozdniakova.

The resident showed a photo of the fence around the football pitch, which has rusted and broken. Now sharp edges are sticking out, posing a danger.

People are also asking for the children’s playground to be refurbished. The structures are unpainted, the bins have holes in the bottom, and there is hardly any sand left in the sandpits.

The complaint was registered under number 65397 and forwarded to those responsible for the work.

Another request regarding the repair of the playground was published by Yuliia Synishyna-Livinska. They are asking for the playground in the courtyard at 26/2 Heorhii Honhadze Street to be refurbished.

«We ask that the playground be repaired and sand brought in, as it is getting warmer outside and the children want to spend more time outdoors. Please renovate the playground at 26/2 H. Honhadze Street in the courtyard,» wrote the resident.

Her complaint was registered under number 65398.

It should be noted that complaints from Mykolaiv residents regarding neglected playgrounds and sports grounds are frequent. Residents have complained about the dilapidated condition of the playground and basketball court on Kazarskoho Street.

Sticks are sticking out of the sports ground on Okeanivska Street.

There are broken boards in the maze, rubbish bins and benches on the playground and on Kolodiazna Street. Residents said that the playground has been in this condition for the last five years. Repairs are scheduled to take place here in April.
