The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, stated that there is currently no data on the admission of conscripted men to higher educational institutions in Mykolaiv, but when they appear, they will be analyzed.

He said this in response to a question from a NikVesti journalist during a briefing on August 1.

«There is still no analysis of the admission of this category of young people, and sometimes not young people, to higher educational institutions. Admissions offices have just closed, the analytics from USEDE (the Unified State Electronic Database on Education, — note) have not been compiled for me yet, but we will analyze and provide this information,» said Oksen Lisovyi.

Oksen Lisovyi added that the ministry is focusing attention on «such a critically unacceptable phenomenon as fictitious learning» in higher education institutions. According to him, officials have already conducted random checks at Ukrainian universities and, based on their results, the ministry «put forward a hypothesis» about increasing the enrollment of men in Ukrainian universities.

«The number of men 25+ and the number of the same category, for example, in the pre-war period, this growth allows us to hypothesize that about 200,000 men enter higher education institutions for bachelor's, master's and then postgraduate studies. The problem was taken into the focus of our attention, and more than one meeting was held. We will very carefully check and pay attention to this phenomenon. Now the database will give general indicators and we will once again go through the anomalies that we find there,» he added.

We will remind you how the minister said that due to distance learning, Ukrainian schoolchildren lag behind educational programs by almost 2.5 years.
