A solar power plant was put into operation at the «Water Supply of the City of Voznesensk» enterprise. The management of the enterprise says that it helps to contain the increase in the cost of the service for the public.

This is stated in the plot of «Suspilne».

This is already the third solar power plant in the community, the capacity of which is 167 kilowatts.

According to Volodymyr Kosovskyi, the chief engineer of the «Water Supply of the City of Voznesensk» enterprise, the solar power plant helps to save 50% of electricity.

«Prior to the installation of the solar panel in 2024, electricity savings at this pumping station reached 20-25 percent. And with the installation of this panel, we reached 50 percent. It will be possible to connect the pump in the absence of external power. And due to batteries, it can partially supply water to some parts of the city,» he said.

The deputy mayor of Voznesensk, Andrii Makoied, says that this station was purchased for 150,000 euros in co-financing with the GIZ charity.

«Currently, we have a total of about 367 kilowatts of solar panels, which cover our enterprise by about 25 percent for electricity consumption. This allows us to maintain the rate we have. In our tariff, about 47 percent is the cost of energy,» says Andrii Makoied.

According to the official, currently the tariff for water supply and drainage reaches a total of almost 40 hryvnias per cubic meter of water.

«Energy prices are rising, but we almost did not raise the tariff. So far this year alone, we have raised it by 7-8%,» Andrii Makoied.

Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv, with the support of the German organization BOREAL LIGHT GMBH, water desalination systems will be installed, which will work from a solar power plant.
