Forests

Forests is a topic about woodlands, nature reserves and forest tracts in Mykolaiv Oblast and neighbouring regions. In spring 2024 foresters planted 760 hectares of new forest in Mykolaiv Oblast, while some forestry areas are still mined: more than 5,800 hectares in the Bashtanka forestry needed demining. The war causes forest fires in Kherson Oblast, and across Ukraine Russian forces have destroyed more than 60,000 hectares of forest.
