neighbourhood in the Central District of Mykolaiv

Varvarivka is a neighbourhood in the Central District of Mykolaiv. Most of the coverage about Varvarivka concerns water. Only 20 houses were connected to the new water pipeline, which cost UAH 77 million, in the two years after its launch, and after residents were switched from wells to the pipeline in June 2025, yellow water came out of their taps. In January 2026 Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said he did not consider the pipeline a waste of money. In September 2026 the Mykolaivvodokanal utility, with help from Caritas, planned to connect about a hundred households to the mains supply.

MykVisti also covers other local problems: bus route No. 79, road repairs in the private housing area, a dispute between residents and a hospital over ambulance access, power cuts and a prosecutor's lawsuit to return a children's music school to the community.
