Rape is a crime involving coercion into sexual intercourse without the victim's consent. In Ukraine, this crime is governed by Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which stipulates criminal liability for such acts.

During the war in Ukraine, rape has also been used as a form of war crime, falling under the jurisdiction of international law. In the Mykolaiv region, cases of rape during the occupation have been recorded and are being investigated by law enforcement authorities.
