An audit is a check of how companies, communities or businesses spend money, use property and pay taxes. In 2025 tax officers in Mykolaiv Oblast carried out 793 audits of businesses and imposed more than two billion hryvnias in fines, but only 2.6% was actually paid. Mykolaiv's municipal companies are going through integrity assessments: in September 2026 Mykolaivpastrans became the fourth in line.
