McDonald’s

McDonald’s is an American fast food restaurant chain founded on 15 May 1940. In Ukraine the chain is run by McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd.

The Mykolaiv restaurant stayed closed for a long time: in January 2024 Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said the lack of proper drinking water was holding it back, and in June 2024 the council’s land commission backed extending the land lease until 2045. In February 2026 regional governor Vitalii Kim announced that McDonald’s was returning to Mykolaiv. A McDrive opened in spring 2026, and its queues caused traffic jams, so a solid line was painted on Mariupolska Street. In July 2026 preparations for a second restaurant at Myru Avenue were reported. In September 2026 McDonald’s cut its menu at some Ukrainian restaurants because air raid alerts delayed deliveries.
