former head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine from Mykolaiv

Vsevolod Kniazev is a judge from Mykolaiv who headed the Supreme Court of Ukraine from December 2021 to May 2023. In 2023 he was caught receiving an unlawful benefit on a particularly large scale, and investigators name Mykolaiv notary and former politician Kyrylo Horburov as his trusted person in handing over the bribe. In August 2024 the High Council of Justice dismissed Kniazev as a judge for a serious disciplinary offence, and in December the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court upheld that decision. In June 2026 the High Anti-Corruption Court approved his plea agreement: Kniazev received 5 years in prison.

MykVisti covers the hearings at the anti-corruption court, the evidence and recordings in the case, the bail for lawyer Anatolii Rekun, the role of businessman Kostiantyn Zhevaho and the interview of the so-called «cashier».
