Kryvyi Rih, a city of regional significance in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, comes under Russian missile strikes and Shahed drone attacks again and again. On 4 April 2025 a Russian ballistic missile hit a residential neighbourhood: 20 people were killed, nine of them children, and 75 were injured. It was the deadliest strike for children since February 2022, and Mykolaiv declared a day of mourning for the victims on 6 April. After the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, the European Union allocated €30 million to Kryvyi Rih to restore its water supply.
