Rescuers of the State Emergency Service put out fires, deal with the aftermath of shelling and storms, free people trapped after road accidents and search for those missing in the water. During the war their work in Mykolaiv Oblast is closely tied to Russian attacks: in one day in August 2026 they put out three fires after drone strikes and 36 fires in open areas.
