«Three floors are on fire, and we have no water,» the rescuers told how they worked in the absence of water supply in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv rescuers told how they had to work with the consequences of Russian shelling during the absence of water supply in Mykolaiv and, accordingly, the lack of water in fire hydrants.

This is stated in the story of NikVesti «Mykolaiv. Heroes of the home front: Rescuers».

Stanislav Ustych, an employee of the State Emergency Service, recalled how Mykolaiv was shelled twice during the night, while they barely had enough water to extinguish one fire.

«There was such a case, somewhere at two o'clock in the morning, there was an arrival at the object, and at that time there was not enough water supply in Mykolaiv. All hydrants and the water network in the city were turned off. Three floors, the roof, a nine-meter-diameter hole are on fire, and we have no water,» the man said.

On the call, the rescuers had to go in only one department, with a water supply of 2 tons and 300 liters. At 4 o'clock in the morning, firefighters only managed to prevent the spread of the fire, but it was still far from extinguishing the fire.

At the same time, the Russian aggressor started shelling the city again.

«At that time, the aggressor shelled Mykolaiv twice during the night. One at 2 am, the other at 4. We all looked at our watches and realized that we had not yet eliminated the fire, we had only prevented it from spreading. We understood that we still had to work here, but at the same time we were already looking for a place to hide (from repeated shelling, note),» Stanislav Ustych shared.

We remind that the average weight of the combat clothing of a rescuer who is working to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack is 40-45 kilograms.

Mykolaiv rescuers also said that during the full-scale war, they had to work with ammunition, the existence of which they did not even know before. Yes, from time to time in the work of sappers there are Russian shells about which it is impossible to find any information.
