Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, known locally as Mohylianka, is one of the leading universities in Mykolaiv. It marked its 30th anniversary on 2 July 2026. In 2023 UAH 10 million was spent on rebuilding the university. In July 2024 rector Klymenko chose not to run in the contest for a new term, and in April 2026 the university opened a centre for Ukrainian language proficiency exams.
