«From time to time they need to be changed», — deputy Bereza explained why to spend ₴500 thousand on flags in the Central district of Mykolaiv

Oleksandr Bereza, the head of the administration of the Central District of the Mykolaiv City Council, explained why 500,000 hryvnias should be spent on flags and their maintenance. He argued that flags wear out and periodically need to be replaced.

We remind you that the administration of the Central District of the Mykolaiv City Council announced a tender for the maintenance of flags and flagpoles in the amount of 542 thousand 734 hryvnias.

— Since last year, it has been decided that the administrations take custody of all flags and pennants located on the territory of the district, in order to keep them in proper condition. From time to time they need to be repaired, and the flags need to be changed. For example, at the entrance to Mykolaiv from the side of the road to Kyiv, these flags often flutter in the wind. Along Heroes of Ukraine Avenue, flagpoles are often attached to trucks. It is impossible to raise them higher because there is a contact network of the trolleybus, — he said.

Oleksandr Bereza also explained that this is not the final amount that will be spent on maintaining the flags. According to him, the funds will be paid upon completion of the work, so the amount may be reduced.

— It is clear that we want them to serve as long as possible, but as it is. This is not a one-time amount, but a framework amount, and the money is paid based on the fact of the work performed, if necessary, it can be half or a third, — the deputy summarized.

It is worth noting that in the spring, in the Central District of Mykolaiv, services were also ordered for the maintenance of flagpoles at public works facilities. Then the expected cost was 241 thousand 489 hryvnias.
