The deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council supported the continuation of the program «Supporting the activities of law enforcement agencies in the territory of the city of Mykolaiv for 2020-2023» for 2024. 18.9 million hryvnias will be allocated for this from the city budget.
Deputies made such a decision during the session of the city council on November 28, NikVesti reports.
Most of this amount will be spent on the purchase of necessary vehicles and automotive equipment for Mykolaiv security forces. Vitalii Danyla, Acting Head of the State Administration of the National People's Republic of Mykolaiv Oblast, explained this by the need to quickly respond to citizens' calls.
«Cars are needed more in order to process calls, calls from citizens to line 102. Thanks to the program, we have already purchased vehicles and calls have improved. For example, now it takes up to 8 minutes to respond to calls in the city of Mykolaiv. And I think we can still improve this direction,» he said.
So, according to the draft decision of the City Council, the funds will be distributed for the following needs:

Also, according to Vitaliy Danyla, the cars will contribute to the enforcement of curfew violations.
«Also, recently, together with the patrol police, we started working on curfew violations. There are situations when it is deliberately violated, and there are situations when a person simply could not get home. This is for those citizens who really did not have time to come home for good reasons. In such cases, we can deliver home if the citizen lives in another part of the city,» he said.
We remind you that in April of this year, the deputies did not support the purchase of cars for the city's law enforcement officers, which was foreseen in the changes to the program for assisting the activities of law enforcement agencies for 2020-2023.
In turn, Deputy Maksym Kovalenko said that these funds can be directed to a more useful cause.
